Player Information

He was born on July 25, 1990 and attended Eden Prairie (MN) High School. As a true freshman at Iowa State, he played at tight end and started one of 11 games there. He finished the season with three catches for 21 yards (7.0 avg). He redshirted the following year and made the position switch to the offensive line. As a sophomore he played in eight games as a reserve offensive tackle and also earned second team Academic All-Big 12 honors. As a junior he started four of 13 games as an injury replacement at right tackle. He moved full-time into the starting lineup as a season, starting all 13 games at left tackle. He also caught a single pass for minus-one yard, while also earning first-team Academic All-Big 12 and honorable mention All-Big 12 honors. He was originally drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round (246th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.
