Christopher Sean Chester was born on January 12, 1983 in Tustin, CA where he attended Tustin High. As a redshirt freshman at Oklahoma, he played tight end. That year, he appeared in seven games as a reserve, catching two passes for 25 yards and a touchdown. He returned as a sophomore to appear in nine games as a reserve and had a single special teams tackles. He also missed five games his sophomore year due to a sprained left knee. As a junior, he only played in two games on special teams. He was moved to offensive line as a senior, starting four games at right guard and three at center, while appearing in nine total. He missed three games as a senior due to another knee sprain as well as a broken hand. He was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round (56th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft.
