Daniel Zachary Brunskill was born on January 27, 1994 in San Diego, CA and attended Valley Center (CA) High School. He walked onto San Diego State's football team as a freshman and redshirted that first year. The following year he appeared in 13 games as a blocking tight end. During his sophomore season, he managed four starts in 13 games, catching five passes for 31 yards (6.2 avg) and a touchdown. As a junior he started all 14 games at tight end, catching 10 passes for 112 yards (11.2 avg) and two scores. He earned honorable mention All-Mountain West honors that season. He moved to right tackle as a senior, starting all 14 games there. He originally was signed by the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent after the 2017 NFL Draft.
