Ayodeji Olatoye was born on July 20, 1991 in Cleveland, OH. He attended Dublin (OH) Scioto High before enrolling at the University of Colorado. As a redshirt freshman he appeared in six games mostly on special teams. He finished the year with seven tackles while being suspended for a single game due to a violation of team rules. As a sophomore he appeared in four games as a reserve, recording 10 tackles and one pass breakups before being suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules. He wound up missing the last nine games that season and transferred to North Carolina A&T the following year. As a cornerback at A&T, he started 10 of 10 games as a junior, including three starts at free safety as an injury replacement. He finished the year with 39 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, four pass breakups and two fumble recoveries. As a senior he started all 11 games at cornerback, logging 40 tackles, one for loss, two interceptions and nine pass breakups. He was originally signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted rookie following the 2014 NFL Draft.
