Willie Dunta Robinson was born on April 11, 1982 in Athens, GA where he attended Clarke Central High. He played as a true freshman at South Carolina, appearing in 9 games playing mostly special teams at strong safety. He recorded 5 tackles. As a sophomore, he again was a backup safety playing in 11 games and recording 10 tackles. He moved into the starting lineup at cornerback as a junior, and finished the year with 49 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 4 interceptions, and 10 pass breakups. Contract details

He signed a six-year deal with the Falcons for a total of $57 million, including $22.5 million guaranteed. Per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, as part of his deal Robinson received a $7 million signing bonus. He received base salaries of: $5 million (2010), $5.5 million (2011); $6 million (2012); $7 million (2013); $9 million (2014); and $9.5 million (2015). He also is due an option bonus of $3 million in 2011, as well as having the potential to receive another $5 million in option bonuses. He has cap numbers of: $12 million (2010); $6.5 million (2011); $7.75 million (2012); $8.75 million (2013); $10.75 million (2014); and $11.25 million (2015) ... Due to his restructuring in 2012, his 2012 base salary was reduced to $5 million, which is fully guaranteed. A $3 million option bonus was waived. His base salaries increased to: $8 million (2013); $10 million (2014); and $11.5 million (2015). $3 million of his 2013 base salary becomes guaranteed if he's on the roster on the fifth day of the league year. His cap hits going forward are: $6 million (2012); $9 million (2013); $11 million (2014); and $12.5 million (2015).
