His uncle is former NFL linebacker Jack "Hacksaw" Reynolds who played with the Los Angeles Rams (1979-80) and San Francisco 49ers (1981-84). As a freshman, he played in 9 games as a reserve offensive tackle. His sophomore year he got 7 starts, 6 at right tackle, and 1 at right guard. As a junior, he started all 12 games at right tackle. His senior year he started 13 games at right tackle and earned 2nd team All-ACC honors. He was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fifth round (156th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.
