He was born on July 26, 1995 and attended South Sumter High in Bushnell, FL. His older brother, Clinton Hart, played safety for the Philadelphia Eagles and San Diego Chargers from 2003 to 2009. Played special teams as a true freshman, tying for the team-lead with five tackles there in 12 appearances. He moved into the starting lineup at strong safety as a sophomore, starting eight of 10 games, missing two due to a high ankle sprain. He finished the year with 45 tackles, one tackle for loss, three interceptions, four pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. As a junior he was moved to free safety, logging 11 starts in 12 appearances. He missed the first two games of the season with a hamstring injury but finished the year with 96 tackles, 3.5 for loss, two sacks, one interception, one pass breakup and one forced fumble. He declared early for the 2016 NFL draft and was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round (17th overall).
