Player Information

He was born on September 4, 1991 in Houston, TX where graduated from Westside High. His brother is guard Germain Ifedi, currently playing with the Seattle Seahawks (2016 to present). As a redshirt freshman at Memphis he played in 12 games as a reserve defensive tackle. He finished that year with 13 tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, one pass breakup, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He moved to defensive end as a sophomore, starting 10 of 12 games there. He finished the year with 46 tackles, 11 for loss, 7.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. He would earn second team All-AAC honors that year. He started all 12 games as a junior, recording 52 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, one pass breakup and one forced fumble. He earned first team All-ACC honors for the first time in his career. As a senior he started all nine games he appeared in, but missed four games early in the season due to a knee injury. He still managed to earn first-team All-AAC honors for a second consecutive year after finishing the year with 29 tackles, 9.5 for loss, 2.5 sacks, two pass breakups and one fumble recovery. He finished his career at Memphis as the school’s all-time record holder in career sacks (22.5). He was originally selected by the St. Louis Rams in the seventh round (227th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.
