Ricardo Jamal Allen was born on December 18, 1991 and attended Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, FL. As a true freshamn, he started 12 games at cornerback. He finished the year with 73 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 3 interceptions and 4 pass breakups. He returned 2 of his interceptions for touchdowns and earned 2nd team All-Big Ten honors. As a sophomore, he started 13 games and finished the year with 81 tackles, 3 for loss, 3 interceptions, 4 pass breakups and a blocked field goal. He would go on to earn All-Big Ten honorable mention as a sophomore and junior when he started 11 of 13 games. As a junior, he finished with 45 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 interception, and 4 pass breakups. His lone interception, he returned for a touchdown. As a senior, he started all 12 games with 53 tackles, 4 for loss, 1 sack, 6 interceptions, 3 pass breakups and a forced fumble. He earned 2nd team All-Big Ten honors as a senior as well. He also finished his career at Purdue with 2 punt returns for 32 yards. Was selected by Atlanta Falcons in fifth round (147th overall) in 2014 NFL Draft.
