Steven Rashad Jackson was born on July 22, 1983 in Las Vegas, NV where he graduated from Eldorado High. As a true freshman at Oregon State, he played in 10 games and rushed for 390 yards on 74 carries (5.3 avg) and 5 touchdowns. He also caught 5 passes for 45 yards (9.0 avg) and a touchdown, while returning 7 kickoffs for 240 yards (34.3 avg) and a touchdown. He earned the starting position as a sophomore, playing in 13 games. He rushed for 1690 yards on 319 carries (5.3 avg) and 15 touchdowns with 17 receptions for 165 yards (9.7 avg) and 2 touchdowns. As a junior, he rushed for 1545 yards on 350 carries (4.4 avg) and 19 touchdowns. He also caught 44 passes for 470 yards (10.7 avg) and 3 touchdowns. He would earn 1st team All-Pac-10 honors both as a sophomore and junior as well as 3rd team All-American honors in both seasons as well. He opted to forgo his final season at Oregon State and enter the 2004 NFL Draft. He was originally drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the first round (24th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft. Made NFC Pro Bowl team in 2006, 2009, and 2010.
