It was a decent week for picking games last week, finishing 10-6 picking straight up and 8-8 against the spread. That puts my season totals to 27-21 both against the spread and straight up.

The Giants offense finally showed some life last week, thanks in large part to strong performances from Victor Cruz and Rashad Jennings. But at the same time, the Giants had their fair share of inept mistakes, including a red-zone fumble and botched snap on a field goal.
The Redskins got a shot in the arm from quarterback Kirk Cousins and have been very efficient with a balanced offense. It’ll make an interesting dilemma once Robert Griffin III returns, but that’s still several weeks/months away. Their pass rush is good, but that defense looked pretty porous against the Eagles last week. Losing DeAngelo Hall for the year probably won’t help matters when it comes to keeping Cruz in check, although Hall wasn’t exactly locking him down much over the years.
I think this could be a night where Giants tight end Larry Donnell has a big night as well, as the Redskins safeties and linebackers struggled last week in coverage.
This could be a shoot-out, but I have a bit more faith that the Redskins offense at home will be the better of the two, especially if Brian Orakpo and Ryan Kerrigan can get after Eli Manning behind a weak Giants offensive line. The Redskins secondary is likely going to give up some big plays, so the team that wins this game is likely the one that gets off to the fastest start.
Last week the Redskins started strong and faded in the second half, while the Giants started slow and finished strong. If that repeats this week, and I’m thinking it will because the Redskins are at home, then that plays into the Redskins hands.
