The Falcons drafted Illinois State wide receiver Laurent Robinson in the third round of the draft with the 75th overall pick. Robinson is the last scheduled selection of the Falcons on the first day of the draft.
Robinson (6’2″ 199) was a productive wideout at Illinois State, catching 192 passes for 3007 yards (15.7 avg) and 29 touchdowns during his career. He is played considered to be a good vertical threat that can stretch the field, displayed with his 4.38 40-time at the Combine.
Robinson will likely help improve depth at this position, and gives the Falcons an option to replace veterans Joe Horn and Brian Finneran in the near future.
