The AP reports that LSU running Justin Vincent has signed with the Falcons as an undrafted rookie free agent. Also the Salt Lake Tribune reports that Utah defensive tackle Kelly Talavou also signed a free agent contract with the Falcons.
Vincent had a promising start to his collegiate career, rushing for 1001 yards and 10 touchdowns as a freshman during LSU’s National Championship season in 2003. But his production tailed off considerably the past three seasons, partially due to injuries. He combined for 1020 yards and 4 touchdowns in that span. At 5’10” 219, he adds some size to the Falcons running back position and can potentially help on special teams.
Talavou visited the Falcons in early April. He is a big (6’2″ 329) defensive tackle that will compete for a reserve role at nose tackle.
